A Special Kind of Fall: New Installations by Paul Louis Nelson

  • 3551 Melwood Avenue Pittsburgh, PA, 15213 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Goldmine is beyond overjoyed and delighted to present, A Special Kind of Fall: New Installations by Paul Louis Nelson. This is Nelson's first solo exhibition in Pittsburgh and Goldmine's first show of installations! We don't want to spoil the surprise, but there'z gonna be balloons and leaves everywhere.

Nelson is based in Seattle, WA and uses photography, sculpture, painting, bookmaking, and installation to explore pop culture, the value of creative labour, the meaning of love and beauty, and the early works of American treasure, Tom Hanks. Trust us, you really really want to see this.

Frequently asked question:

Q: I've heard Paul Nelson's website is good, is this true?
A: Yes, it's very very good.

Q: Is Paul Louis Nelson the same Paul Louis Nelson from the Baltimore hardcore band Vanderbilt?
A: Yup.

Q: What the heck is Goldmine?
A: Goldmine is an art gallery in the front room of David Oresick and Deanna Mance's house. It’s even got it’s own website, goldmine.space. So far this is the only room in our house that has a website.

Q: Why is it called Goldmine?
A: Our floor is grouted with golden glitter and we are practically located on Gold Way and it's going to make us rich.

Q: Can I bring something?
A: Things to drink and eat are always appreciated.
